KARI HOSFORD, M.S.
BCBA
Kari knew her heart belonged to behavior as a young child when she set her sights on training animals as a career. She participated in several marine and zoological internships while working on her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida in 2005.
-
For the next 7 years she worked at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida as a zoological animal care specialist caring for animals such as giraffes, rhinos, elephants, and lions. There she was mentored by some of the most well-known professionals in the field of animal husbandry, behavior, and conservation.
As Kari began to build a family, she was introduced to the beautiful, unique, and often challenging world of autism. All three of her children are touched by autism and it has been through them that Kari has learned so much about autism and the professional fields that serve children with diagnoses on the spectrum. Though she had to leave the zoological field to focus on her children’s’ behavioral needs, Kari felt that her experiences would eventually lead to another meaningful career. In 2019 she discovered C.A.B.S. and fell in love with everything about the company. The field of Applied Behavior Analysis felt like home for the first time in a long while. Kari completed her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis through the Florida Institute of Technology and will be sitting for her exam in fall of 2022.
